Throughout the years, the City of Paris has made itself a name in contemporary art by offering many fairs celebrating this art. From May 22nd to the 27th, 2018 the macparis fair will be presenting the work of 23 artists. The event will be taking place at the Bastille Design Center, near the Mareuil hotel. Everyone from curious guests to connoisseurs will have the pleasure to contemplate the work of well established artists. Among them, we can mention the plastic artist and sculptor Lidia Lelong, the painter and engraver Zhang Hongyu or even Erwan Ballan, Fabien de Chavannes, and Laure Jullien. Paintings, sculptures, plastic and numeric art… all expressions of contemporary art will be shown. You can’t miss this event!

It’s hard to resist this tasty address located near the Mareuil hotel, where the game takes place in the plates rather than in the decoration and the atmosphere! The French-American chef Robert Compagnon has turned the grill into his favourite way of cooking. Fish, meats, seafood and other vegetables are all grilled and presented to guests in tasty and well-arranged bites. More classic dishes are also possible as a black mullet carpaccio or a mullet soup, as well as a steam cooked egg with oyster mushrooms. As for desserts, the chef has called to his side the pastry chef Jessica Yang, who was trained and has worked with Guy Savoy. As a very creative chef, she dares mixing unfamiliar flavours such as a chocolate fondant served with buckwheat ice cream or the clementines marinated in anise, accompanied with anise ice cream. At the Rigmarole, let yourself be amazed not only by the looks of the dishes but also by the incredible flavours!
Open from Wednesday till Sunday from 7:30a.m. to 11p.m.
Chef menu: 49 euros.

Opened by Rudy Lafont and Damien Zappavigna in 2016, Ammazza is an Italian restaurant located just a few-minute walk away from Bastille and the Hotel Mareuil which offers a dolce vita touch to the capital.
Ammazza: the Parisian trattoria
Experience the best of the Italian lifestyle. All the products and ingredients used in the kitchen celebrate the various specialties of different Italian regions: Parma ham, Puglia cheeses or Napoli flour. The menu includes antipasti, salads as well as pasta dishes or pizzas. The restaurant’s flagship pizza is the “Figata”, with its San Daniele DOP ham (24 months matured) and Parmigiano Reggiano also matured up until 24 to 26 months. Dessert lovers will enjoy the “Bombolone alla crema”, an Italian version of the French “tropézienne”: brioche, Piemonte nuts flavoured mascarpone and chocolate chips. Otherwise, you can always go for the traditional tiramisus, pana cottas or lemon meringue pie. This pizzeria is also a cocktail bar where you can enjoy the traditional “Aperitivo” or the evening happy hours, and taste cocktails prepared with Italian liquors. Lastly, Ammazza organises Sunday brunches, with antipasti and pizza buffet, bruschetta, pastries, hot drinks and fresh squeezed orange juice. Feel free to visit this address anytime of the day!
