Bidoche: the restaurant-butcher shop of Oberkampf

Located just a few-minute walk away from the Hotel Mareuil, in the 11th arrondissement, Bidoche is both a restaurant and a butcher shop. It’s hard to imagine that the butcher’s stall hides a cosy table, where one can taste grilled meat or seasonal dishes, like the famous blanquette de veau. Created by Alexandre de Toulmon, who left the financial world to become a butcher, this address relies on quality meat (beef, veal, lamb or pork) served with seasonal vegetables (glazed or mashed) and French fries cooked in beef fat. The products sold on the spot come from French farms: the lamb is from the Pré Salé at the Mont Saint Michel and the beef is from Bazadaise and Limousine breeds. Bidoche also sells charcuterie and matured meat. This meat restaurant sublimates its dishes with rich sauces like the “bleue” (with gorgonzola), the “paloise” (bearnaise and mint) or the “Chimichurri” (cilantro and spices). Go ahead and discover this place, between 2 sessions of shopping in Paris!
