The best thrift shops of the Canal Saint-Martin!

It is not a coincidence that Paris is famous for being a world fashion capital! It owes its title to its luxury addresses, its creators’ shops but above all, to its caves of Ali Baba of vintage, of which the city is bursting with. Two steps away from the Mareuil Hotel, there are a lot of different second-hand clothes shops, cheap or chic: you must have an eagle eye because they all have retro treasure that won’t go out of fashion. To make it easier for you, we selected the four best thrift shops near our Hotel, along the Canal.

1/ Chez Chiffons
Here, you will find clothes, shoes and accessories from the 1940s to the 1980s. All these vintage articles, selected with a lot of taste by a former movie costume designer, are in perfect condition. A thrift shop for the less upscale!

2/ Le Comptoir General
In addition to being a bar, a canteen and an oddness museum, the Comptoir General also houses a thrift shop on its mezzanine! This rallying point of Paris’ Africans is an institution in the neighborhood, where reigns a friendly, warm and responsible atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. As to second hand clothes, a large selection is available, with clothes more folk than the others. You must also know that all profits are given to an association fighting against poverty and injustices, of which all the sellers are a part of.
