Keith Haring, the chalk virtuoso at the 104 and at the MAM

When two great contemporary art museums, the MAM and the 104, get together, the result is an exhibit dedicated to chalk artist Keith Haring (1958-1990).  250 of his works are presented to the public, including 20 large pieces.

A hypnotic retrospective
The works by anticonformist artist Keith Haring are fascinating and show his desire to change the world.  Against capitalism, homophobia or racism, Apartheid or AIDS (from which he died), he wanted to make art visible to the world, make it public, and dreamed of social justice and freedom from the state.  With this mindset, he went down in to the New York subway to draw his “Subway Drawings”on the walls.  A true representant of Pop art and steet art, friends with the biggest names of the genre (among whom Jean-Michel Basquiat), Keith Haring is one of the best loved artists of his time and style.  The exhibit is on now!
