All you foodies out there will be delighted to know that Alain Ducasse, the famous highly decorated chef, is opening his first chocolate factory (La Manufacture de Chocolat). It is located very near Hotel Mareuil, in the 11th arrondissement, by Place de la Bastille. This new workshop is the place of choice to discover the art of chocolate.

The celebrated chef has given the direction of the factory to master chocolatier Nicolas Berger, who excels in the art of chocolate bites, pralinés and ganaches. The bell shaped window offers a view of all the delicious chocolates, some more classic with their hazelnut or pistacho flavor, others with more unusual aromas such as tea, lime or raspberry. Choose your own favorite among all the varieties of size and color available.
The secrets of the making of great chocolate
What makes this boutique so special, and sets it apart from the rest, is the visible backstage area of the factory. Through a bay window with a view of the kitchen, customers can enjoy watching the artisans and admire the art of chocolate making from A to Z. Watching the whole process, from the roasting of the beans, which come from Venezuela, Madagascar or Vietnam, to the completion of refined gourmet delicacies, is truly inspiring and mouthwatering!
