Tribute to Cesaria Evota

The Ile de France festival that will take place on September 28th and 20th 2012, planned a beautiful homage to Cesaria Evora. We used to call her “The barefoot diva”, she was a true icon of Cap Vert. Her rasping voice stood up amongst thousands. Numerous artists will be present paying her a tribute on stage at Cirque d´Hiver. Bonga, Angélique Kidjo, Teofilo Chantre, Camané, and the chorus singers and musicians of Cesaria Evora will retake the mornas and coladeiras repertory. Keep your tissues nearby, you’ll need them!

On the waterways of Paris It is well known

Paris is the capital of love and romance. If you are not yet convinced, then take a trip on a barge on the waters of Canal St-Martin. The outing takes you from Bastille to la Villette. On the way you will discover the locks, and the atmosphere of Hotel du Nord immortalized in film by the French actress Arletty. In the shade of century old trees the barge passes under elegant footbridges. On the banks you may see fishermen, pétanque players and couples on a stroll. At the end of your trip you will disembark at la Villette. It is up to you to discover the Cité des Sciences or the Cité de la Musique! The Mandatory Stop of the 11th District

One of the most popular restaurants of the moment: Au Passage, is located in the Oberkampf area, at passage Saint-Sébastien. This new generation bistro offers a simple and tasty cuisine mostly of giblets, fish, and seasonal products. Cooked by the young rising Australian Chef , James Edouard Henry, this food is to be sampled with a glass of wine, amongst friends, in a very typical Parisian friendly atmosphere. We also appreciate the setting, vintage with its yesteryear tiling and its secondhand-style furniture. This place will quickly become a mandatory stop while staying in the Mareuil Hotel!
