Cyril Lignac is now in the pastry world

While he’s from one TV project to another, the favorite Chef of the french, Cyril Lignac, also found the time to open his first pastry shop in the heart of the 11th district in Paris, in front of his bistro, the famous Chardenoux. With the help of the Pastry Chef Benoit Couvrand, he revisits great classics and perfumes his madeleines with pistachio, and his éclairs with salted butter caramel. There’s no need to clarify that these are delicacies of which one must take only a bite!

Open Monday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Le Marché des Enfants Rouges

It’s a known fact, the Marais has the reputation of having a neighborhood life worthy of a little town in France. Inhabitants there have their habits, and meet every weekend at the Marché des Enfants Rouges. It owns its name (The exact translation would be: Market of the red children) to the orphanage that was there before, and where the boarders wore a red suit. It’s also the oldest market in Paris.

Created in 1615 in order to supply the center of Paris, it has always been very popular and successful. Today, all Parisians meet there to escape the commotion of the city, and to enjoy a sunny afternoon, buying great products, or brunching. Within the multitude of tables that we find there, we hold onto Estaminet des enfants rouges for its friendly atmosphere.

Le Marché des Enfants Rouges is open Tuesday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Go back to childhood at Cirque d´Hiver!

Behind its imposing and pretty façade, the Cirque d´Hiver shelters the history of one of the greatest families in French circus, the Bouglione. It’s in 1852 that the Cirque Napoléon was set up, being able to receive 5,000 spectators and 200 horses, before being re-baptized Cirque d´Hiver in the 30s. Transformed in a temple of laughs and enchantment, the greatest artists of the time performed there, making little and big ones dream big. Even today, it’s within family that we gather around to admire acrobats and trapeze artists, and to laugh at clown’s jokes. A place where it feels good to go back to childhood.
